Distinguished Service |

The highest honor that the
Society can bestow upon a member. It is given to honor
members, one from the industrial sector and one from the
academic sector, for outstanding service to the Society.

Weed
Scientist of the Year |
 |
|
Presented annually to a weed
scientist in recognition of outstanding performance in
teaching, research, extension, and/or other service to
weed science.
|
|
Outstanding
Educator |
 |
|
Presented annually to a weed
scientist in recognition of outstanding contributions to
the Society and Weed Science through education. The
Award is to be given in recognition of a broad range of
activities including formal classroom teaching; outreach
and public service or extension including workshops,
seminars, short courses, or other means of
communication; mentoring undergraduate and graduate
students; publication of scholarly work in journals,
books, or reviews.

Outstanding
Young Weed Scientist |
 |
|
Recognize a weed scientist
one from academia (teaching, research, extension) and
one from Industry outstanding service to weed science.
|
|
Outstanding Graduate Student |
 |
|
One student each at the M.S.
and Ph.D. level are awarded for their demonstrated
performance in graduate studies and related weed science
activities. (Winners at the M.S. level are not
eligible for this award at the Ph.D. level.) |
